Elected: Your students’ representation at the Medical University of Vienna.

In May 2009, the elections of the Austrian National Students’ Representation for the next 2 years were held. At the Medical University of Vienna, the ÖMU (Österreichische Mediziner Union) could gain 78,21% of all votes and 8 out of 9 mandates at the MUV as well as both mandates for the national representation.
For the PhD students’ representation, all 5 candidates out of our team were elected:
Martin Andreas
Judith Böhm
Michaela Gruber
Michael Humenberger
David Stelzeneder

We are looking forward to working for you during the next 2 years

Scholarships or support contributions from incomes of the "HANS UND BLANCA MOSERSTIFTUNG" can be awarded to students of the human medicine and doctors with activity at the medical universities of Graz, Innsbruck and Vienna. The purpose of the endowment is the support of the education of cancer specialists and cardiologists.

Dr. Wolfgang-Houska-Preis 2009
The Houska price of the B & C private endowment tends to distinguish practically oriented projects at Austrian universities. It should be an incentive for Austrian universities to realize research projects also for industrial / commercial purpose and to utilise for Austrian enterprises.

Election of the Austrian Students Association

From 26th to 28th of May the election of the Austrian Students Association (Österreichische Hochschülerschaft, ÖH) will take place. You are called to use your right to vote and to define the composition of the Student Union for the next two years.
Who is allowed to vote?
All students who were registered at the Medical University of Vienna before April 2009 can cast her/his vote. Don´t forget to bring your student´s ID card!
When and where will the election take place?
From Tuesday, 26th of May till Thursday, 28th of May you can cast your vote in the conference room at the rector’s building (Building Nr. 88, 1th Floor, see attached plan). You will receive two separate ballot cards: one for the election of the university representation (“Universitätsvertretung”) and one for the election of the study representation (“Studienvertretung”).
The more students participate the better the chance that the ÖH is taken seriously by the public players and gets the chance to influence politics in favour of students´ needs and concerns.
By voting you can make use of your right to have a representation of your interests.
As a little present for your voter participation you will get a ball-pen with laser pointer!
